  • Chapter 2: Installation of PBS
    • Hardware and OS requirements
    • Installing PBS on Debian/Proxmox repositories
    • Initial system setup (network, storage, time synchronization)
  • Chapter 3: Storage Configuration
    • Configuring local storage and external storage (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI)
    • Deduplication and compression settings
    • Repository management for backups
  • Chapter 4: User & Permission Management
    • Creating users and API tokens
    • Role-based access control (RBAC)
    • Integration with Proxmox VE authentication

Day 2 – Backup Tasks, Scheduling & Integration

  • Chapter 5: Backup Tasks
    • Creating backup jobs for Proxmox VMs and containers
    • Scheduling backups and retention policies
    • Pruning old backups automatically
  • Chapter 6: Restore Procedures
    • Restoring VMs, containers, and individual files
    • Using PBS web interface and CLI tools
  • Chapter 7: Integration with Proxmox VE
    • Adding PBS storage to Proxmox VE nodes
    • Performing scheduled backups from VE to PBS
    • Verifying backup integrity
  • Chapter 8: Monitoring & Maintenance
    • Monitoring backup jobs and storage usage
    • Setting up alerts for failed backups
    • Updating PBS and managing logs
