Chapter 2 – Installation

Bare-metal install, BIOS/UEFI settings, disk layout, ZFS vs ext4, networking defaults, first login, node configuration.

Chapter 3 – Web Interface Navigation

Datacenter vs Node views, resource tree, graphs, tasks, shell, permissions view.

Chapter 4 – Storage Basics

Directory, LVM, LVM-Thin, ZFS, USB/SSD/NAS usage, storage content types, enabling/disabling storage.

Chapter 5 – Networking Basics

Bridges, Linux Bonding, VLANs, Linux Firewall, assigning NICs, configuring vmbr0, understanding Proxmox network flow.

Chapter 6 – Virtual Machine Management

Creating KVM VMs, CPU types, memory ballooning, disk and network devices, GPU pass-through basics, snapshots, cloning, ISO management.

Chapter 7 – Container Management (LXC)

Creating containers, privileged vs unprivileged, templates, resource limits, console access, networking, backups.

Chapter 8 – Templates & Cloning

Creating VM templates, cloud-init basics, linked clones, full clones, storage impact.

Day 2 – Backups, Updates, Monitoring, Basic Cluster

Chapter 9 – Backups & Restore

Backup modes (snapshot, suspend, stop), vzdump jobs, remote storage, retention, restoring VMs and CTs.

Chapter 10 – Updates & Package Management

Enterprise vs no-subscription repo, update workflow, safe kernel updates, reboot strategies, checking changelogs.

Chapter 11 – User Management & Permissions

Roles, permissions model, access groups, restricting views, API tokens.

Chapter 12 – Basic Monitoring

Syslog, task history, node graphs, ZFS monitoring, storage usage, HA logs preview.

Chapter 13 – Basic Cluster Setup

Cluster creation, joining nodes, quorum basics, corosync rings, node communication, health checks.

Chapter 14 – Migration

Offline vs live migration, shared storage requirements, troubleshooting “cannot migrate” errors.

Chapter 15 – Intro to High Availability

Concept only: HA group, HA manager, failover logic, fencing basics (no deep dive, only awareness).

Chapter 16 – Troubleshooting Basics

Common issues: noVNC errors, storage not available, VM stuck, network misconfig, ZFS degradation, cluster desync.
